The change in terrain along the way.. think that's what makes the trek so interesting...
Cranky morning where nothing went right! It was a WTF feeling the moment I woke up. I just couldn't pack my stuff into the bag properly, it was so f**king cold and I had the nagging stomachache that doesn't go away. The toilet was the Asian type toilet. How can I squat for more than 1 minutes after all the trek that I have done. Zzz.... Kns. Almost quarreled with shanli over 50 rupees, had a late and cold breakfast, shouted at Sarah over the door... Wahlau Miss Unpopular for the morning.
Trek was pretty alright for the morning. The lush green jungle shielded us from the sun and thereafter it leads to a steep ravine. It was hot. Desert hot but winter cold. We were trekking in the valleys. Ice was melting and there were a lot of waterfalls along the way, really awesome how the terrain changes.
Post-lunch, we finally made it to MBC after like 2 hrs in the blistering sun. It sheer madness... by the time we reached MBC, NO MORE SUN!!! It got blocked by the valleys... Zzzzzzz..... All our trek clothes were drenched and we will need to re- wear them in the morning. Sianz....
Everyday after trek, we had a routine to stick to. Pack, pack, pack!!! We pack before dinner, pack after dinner, pack before the trek. Think Singaporeans are really one kind. We have to be as organized as we can. Haha.. Decided to wear my smelly trek clothes to bed that night as it would keep the clothes warm, especially since we are heading to ABC at 4 am in the morning in freezing weather (~3-4 deg).
Honestly, I think I am underprepared for the nights in the mountains. I get woken up by my frozen toes every night, despite wearing wool socks and feet warmers...
