Day 3- Yogyakarta City

We saw "Jerry" at breakfast this morning. Totally ruined my meal.. Zzzz..

We got "cai tou" today by various drivers!!! Can't believe that I would allow such stuff to happen to me!! And the worst one was this fucking driver who quoted us 200k IDR for a 1km drive. We still insisted on getting on metre and he drove us 1 big round to earn 15k IDR off us!! That little fucker...

"I love white carrot cake,
You like black carrot cake,
She likes ang moh carrot cake,
We all love being a carrot cake!"

- a poem we thought of after dinner. Nx, Shanli, Sophia.

Visited Prabanam temple this morning. It was superb. Definitely something that I would recommend all to visit when they are in Central Java.

The temple grounds is 80++ hectares , with the Hindu temple as the main attraction. There is the Buddhist temple, about 1km away which we didn't visit. The temple was built at around 800AD but was totally destroyed in 1006AD but an earthquake. The Dutch tried to rebuilt it in 1800s- 1900s but was again destroyed by another major earthquake in 2006 ( I didn't realised big earthquakes hit every 1000 years!). The 3 main stupas in the Hindu ground represents the 3 main Hindu gods; Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma. It was certainly well-worth to hire a guide for 60k IDR, you get to know the architectural ideas, history, geo, jokes etc.

Spent the noon shopping at Galleria and Ambarrukmo. My recommendations: the latter! Why? Cos it's the only shopping mall with Nike and Adidas shops!!!! Hahaha.. Huated my 30sgd Adidas shorts, 16sgd Nike cap and 35sgd Nike pro sports bra!!! Hahaha...

Dinner was quite expensive though. We went to this place called "Ayam Goreng Suharti" that was recommended by Wiki travel. Tried Yogya's famous dishes: Fried chicken and Gudeg (some jackfruit dish)... And we finally had some proper veggie for our meal and probably one of the few meals in Yogya that has lesser MSG and colourings... That's how horrendous my meals experience has been in central Java so far.. Haha..

Oh!!! And I finally had my Javaness massage today! Woot!

We are moving up North to Borobudur tomorrow.. Haha.. Hope place is clean.. =p

Warm Regards,
Sophia Low
