day 3- Myanmar & Mekong River

Hoorray!!! into Myanmar!!!
the town of Tachilek, Myanmar
the long-neck "zoo". Pardon me for my sarcacism. But I hope this thing goes bankrupt soon...
the sawngthaew driver buying pork from a vendor. It was a shop in disguise if you get what I mean..
what's a picture without sophia? hahah...golden triangle
the majestic mekong river but look at 1cm layer of fats under the skin. *brrr* scary.
venue: Boon Bun Duan Guesthouse, Chianrai It was really crispy cold this morning. Not frosty cold but just downright crispy cold. hahaha... we just came back to our guesthouse in chiangrai. Visited Mae Sai, crossed the border into Myanmar and chiangsaen. Yes, all in a day's work. I must really tel l u the mekong river was AWESOME! It is everything I have dreamed about. Majestic would be the correct word to describe it. It is equivalent to like seeing the Great Wall of China that sort of "wow-ness". hahaha....however, I didn't take the river cruise. Will explain later. At Mae Sai, we crossed the friendship bridge into this town called Tachileik. Hired a guide to get us around on a tuk-tuk. Visited a temple and a pagoda on a hill. The hill gave a good overall view of the town. Tachilek wouldn't have been so memorable if not for something that happened at the end. Kns...the guide brought us to visit the long neck karens "village". I used to think tourism shouldn't strive hard in Myanmar yet. I was wronged. The "village" was actually a "zoo".We pay an entrance fee, they imitate the habitats of the karens, catch the karens and put them up on exhibit *speechless* A disillusioned sophia then moved onto Sopruak. The "golden triangle" . Saw the Mekong River. Then this guy tried to peddle me a boat ride on the mekong river where I will get to go to this Lao's island and hang around. Goodness... I had enough of this sort of nonsense. Don't bloody spoil my impression of the Mekong River anymore! All I wanted was a ride around the river. I don't need to visit Laos and let you try to earn commission loh....*sigh* enough of complains. We had a late lunch again. At this cafe next to the river. It was good enough. Tried the mekong fish. See the picture man...hahaha
Day 3 ended just like that. hehe...slacking around in the room waiting for time to pass so that we could have our dinner at the night market. hehe...
