Day 2- New York City- Atlantic City

After a simple breakfast at the hotel, we headed back to JFK airport to collect our car from Dollar rental.

The lady at the counter was very nice and upgraded us to a SUV, Chevrolet Captiva. Nice! My first time driving a SUV! It was a series of unfortunate events. Hahaha.. It was super funny in the sense, the 1st one they gave us, we started cleaning the car even before we started the engine! After like 5 mins of hard cleaning, I realized to my horror that I couldn't get it to start at all! The 2nd one had its steering locked and nobody could figure how to unlock it. Finally, after 1 hr of trying to get a proper car, we finally got a black one that works.

And so our USA adventure aka 'GET FAT + SHOPPING' trip started from here.

I drove all the from NYC to Atlantic City. Along the way, it rained quite a fair bit so there isn't too much scenery. After about 3hrs of drive, we finally reached Atlantic City. We spent the night with Chelsea Pub & Inn, a small Inn ran by a French lady. It's a bit old but good enough for us.

Spent the rest of the afternoon strolling on the Pacific Boardwalk. Nice place to just stroll and soak oneself into the beach atmosphere. Loads of food joints + pesky sea gulls + casinos. Hahaha.. That's the American life for you. We decided to have a nice proper seafood dinner at Philly's Seafood. Everyone asked me what is 'ang moh' style seafood. I couldn't list past fried calamari and cajun crayfish. Hahaha...

And so we had; monitor clams, fried calamaris and salad as starters, fried crab cakes, grilled fish and grilled prawns as entrees. Overall, it was a satisfying dinner, which we all over ate. Hahaha...

Surprisingly, we didn't get hit by very bad jetlag. Phew.....
