Breakfast at Villa Semana was delicious. It's probably my 2nd favourite meal in Bali after the italian restaurant. Had this Croque Madam set breakfast. It was delicious. Even KHS commented that the picture looks yummy. hahahah....
Prior to the trip, I signed the whole bunch of us up for a tour around the region. So off we go on our kintamini volcano tour. SO we started our tour at aroun 10am at the Ubud Art Market. Wah lau... totally kena cai tou by the auntie. Plain dumb leh... zzzz....
Bargaining tip in Bali: Cut the price by at least 70%. Trust me. It seems ridiculous to jackup the price by 70% but that's what they do!!!!!!!!! if you don't want to bargain, then go to departmental stores to get your souvenirs. I bought this bathe buddy thing for 50000 IDR. She started off with the price 80000 IDR. I saw the exact same thing for 25000 IDR at a departmental stores days later!!!
After the arts market, we went to this Elephant temple. It's in ruins but the backdrop for pictures looks good bah... then we proceeded to a spring water temple. It was the weekend. A lot of people were swimming in the temple leh... Then we went to a coffee store to try Balinese coffee. Not to my taste though...
Finally, we proceeded up the mountains to this restaurant for lunch. hehe... Food wasn't fantastic. Service was appalling. They are really only after profits leh.. the ambience was great though. It was just opposite the volcano. Very breathtaking view.
After lunch, he brought us to a few markets which didn't really caught any of our fancy. THough I bought 2 sarongs. I was trying to educate John the wonders of a sarong.
10 Wonders of a Sarong:
(1) Use it as a blanket
(2) Wrap around your body to enter temples
(3) carry your baby with it
(4) It's a subsitite for a shawl
(5) In Thailand, if there is no fitting room, the sarong is a convenient curtain
(6) wear it like a skirt/ dress
(7) beach mat
(8) towel
(9) wrap the head like a tudung
(10) table cloth
hahaha.. we were pretty tired so we asked to brought to our new villa for the next 2 nights. Una Sapna! It is probably the most luxurious villa I have ever stayed on a holiday.
You should see the video we took siah... totally like a bunch of mountain tortoises. After that we proceeded to our very huat ITALIAN RESTAURANT FOR DINNER!!!! It's called Ultimo. You should visit it when you are Bali. The food is cheap. For example, a plate of gambas with squid ink pasta was going for less than 12 sing dollars! so cheap!!! I think nx, alw and john had a good time there as well....
