a little bit of this, a little bit of that...

It's been awhile since I last blogged.
Thought I will update a little before I come home. =PpPp YUP!! 3 MORE DAYS!! And my bloody flight is not confirmed yet. All thanks to the bureacracy (how to spell???) that this nation I am working in has implemented.... You know what... they even insist on putting a representative on every operations that we do here. Like for example, the helicopter representative who basically get paid for just sitting on our flights to and fro the rig. Without him, the air traffic controller would not allow us to fly at all. Then there's this guy from PetroXX who sits on the rig and do nothing. Although he's supposed to make sure that we are following the laws of the country and doing whatever we said that we are doing......
These people are totally space-wasters.... By doing things like this, one's country can NEVER move forward.
Anyway, back to topic...
The work environment has been alright so far. Things were a lot better after the day DSV had a crew change. My current DSV is fantastic. He's my dad's age, very wise, very zai and very calm when situation gets tensed... *respect*
I am quite gam with the geologist. hahaha... he's about 10 years my senior. The age gap is not that far so we click quite well. Music, chit chats, work... and he's the only other person onboard who can type with 10 fingers. wahahaha... He owns a Sony Vaio can!!! Wah lau...
I know, it's a bit devious on my part. However, I was really quite pissed when I came onboard and confirmed the fact that I wasn't sitting in the same office as the DSV (stands for drilling supervisor). I mean, it's not that I hate sitting with the geologist but it's totally crap when the logistic coordinator knows more about the operations than I do. Yup, so I wrote an email to my boss about it. Next couple of days, my drilling manager came out for an inspection (separate issue) and he got me changed out. I think 'cos of it, there are some bad blood between me and the guy. =PpPp No choice, I had to fight for my own seat in there.... Now, my current seat is good!! Next to the DSV, window seat that can view the entire operations and most of all, I get to learn and listen at the same time.
The time onboard really passes by very fast. 11 days just passed in a flash. I just called home. Quite excited to go home actually. No concrete plans lah... Just wanna hang around, do nothing. I am hardly breathing here man...in fact, I just realised that I haven't caught any sunsets on the helideck yet. hahaha.. I shall do it tmr if I am not too busy..
